Period exterior work in Stonington Borough and beyond

Stonington Borough’s Greek Revival and Federal houses have stood against the harbor for two centuries. Work on them calls for cedar, real trim profiles, and patience. It is the east end of our route, and some of our favorite jobs.

Quiet New England harbor at golden hour with wooden docks, moored sailboats, and shingled cottages

Two centuries of weather, and counting

Stonington Borough runs out into the harbor on its own narrow point — Greek Revival captains’ houses and Federal rows that have taken storms head-on since the whaling years. These houses survived because every generation renewed the envelope: cedar, paint, flashing, repeat. Our job is to be the generation that does it right.

Beyond the Borough, Stonington spreads through Pawcatuck, Mystic’s eastern side, and farm roads north of Route 1: a much broader mix of ages and exposures than the point itself.

Stonington projects we take

The east end of the route

Stonington is the far end of our territory, about forty minutes from the Guilford shop, so we batch work out here: a crew stays east for the week rather than commuting the coast daily. For you that means we book Stonington jobs in blocks, and an estimate scheduled alongside the next block gets the fastest start date.

Heading back west, the nearest towns on our route are Niantic and East Lyme; the full list is on the service areas page.

The east end of our route

We batch Stonington work so a crew is out your way regularly. Call and we will line your estimate up with the next trip.
