Exterior work for Guilford’s older homes
Our shop is right here on Boston Post Road. Guilford’s housing runs from 18th-century colonials near the Green to waterfront homes at Sachem’s Head, and each needs a different approach to siding, windows, and trim.
Working around the Green
Guilford’s center is one of the oldest streetscapes in Connecticut, and the houses around the Green carry details worth protecting: hand-planed clapboard reveals, original window casings, trim profiles you cannot buy off a shelf. Exterior work on these houses is matching work; we replicate what is there rather than flattening it with modern stock.
Out at Sachem’s Head, Mulberry Point, and along Route 146, the problem changes: open exposure to the Sound. Those houses need the coastal spec — stainless fasteners, wind-rated materials, flashing detailed for sideways rain.
What we do in Guilford
- Cedar shake and shingle siding — the default for the older streets, with exposures matched to the neighbors
- Vinyl siding for the postwar neighborhoods north of the Post Road
- Window replacement sympathetic to original casings and divided-lite patterns
- Entry doors and gutters across town
The advantage of being local
Our shop sits on Boston Post Road, which means Guilford estimates happen fast and small jobs do not wait behind big ones. If a storm lifts a run of shingles or a gutter lets go, we are minutes away, not weeks out.
Nearby, we also serve Madison and Branford, or see all of our service areas.
Guilford is home
Our crews pass the Green every morning. If you are near the shop on Boston Post Road, stop in, or call and we will come to you.
