Exteriors for Old Saybrook’s toughest exposure

Saybrook Point and Fenwick sit where the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound: wind, spray, and salt from two directions. Doors and hardware fail here faster than anywhere else on our route, so that is where we start.

Where the river meets the Sound

Old Saybrook holds the mouth of the Connecticut River, and the homes at Saybrook Point, Fenwick, and along the causeway catch weather from two directions: open Sound to the south, river wind funneling down from the north. Salt rides both. Hardware that lasts ten years in Guilford shows pitting here in three.

It is the most honest materials test on our route, and it has taught us what actually survives: stainless everything, PVD-finished locksets, fiberglass slabs, cellular trim, and vinyl or cedar specified for open exposure.

What we install in Old Saybrook

  • Entry doors — our busiest door town; coastal-rated slabs and hardware as the baseline, not the upgrade
  • Full re-sides on Point and Fenwick homes, specified for two-direction exposure
  • Windows with laminated glass options for the causeway and waterfront lots
  • Gutters pitched and anchored for wind-driven rain that arrives horizontally

Spec for the Point, not the catalog

Product photography is shot in a studio, not on a jetty. When we quote in Old Saybrook we adjust the spec for the actual lot — a protected street behind Main Street is a different job than a cottage staring down the breakwater. You will see the difference line by line in the written scope.

Nearby we cover Westbrook and Essex up the river; the full list is on the service areas page.

Old Saybrook’s salt problem is solvable

The right materials last here; the wrong ones visibly don’t. Call and we will spec your project for the Point, not for a catalog photo.
