Siding and windows for Madison’s beach neighborhoods
Between the Surf Club, the Wharf roads, and the stretch toward Hammonasset, Madison homes take open-water wind that most of Connecticut never sees. Exterior work here has to be specified for it.
Built for the wind off the Sound
Madison’s beach streets around the Surf Club, East Wharf, West Wharf, and the neighborhoods toward Hammonasset face some of the most open water on the shoreline. There is no island chain out front to break the fetch, so wind arrives at full strength and brings rain in sideways with it.
That shapes everything we install here: wind-rated siding panels locked at every course, laminated glass worth discussing on south-facing walls, and flashing details we would call optional two miles inland and mandatory here.
Madison projects we take on
- Heavy-gauge vinyl siding on the beach colonials — wind rating checked against the lot, not the catalog
- Window packages with low-E glass specified for direct sun plus reflection off the water
- Cedar shingle on the older houses along the Boston Post Road corridor
- Gutters sized for the big summer thunderstorms that stall over the beach
Timing a beach-area project
Madison’s beach neighborhoods fill up from Memorial Day on, and several associations limit construction hours in season. We schedule the louder phases, tear-off especially, for spring and fall windows, and we are used to working within association rules. Book early if you want the work done before the house fills with guests.
We also work next door in Guilford and Clinton, or browse all service areas.
