Vinyl Siding and 8 Double-Hung Windows on a Guilford Colonial

This Guilford colonial still had its original clapboard. We tore it off down to the sheathing, put on new housewrap, and sided the house in Mastic Carvedwood in Harbor Grey.

Siding and windows done together

Eight new double-hung windows went in as part of the same job. The finished elevation shows white trim and casing, black shutters, and grids in the upper sash, so the colonial look stayed intact.

Housewrap matters on the shoreline. Taking the old siding off gave us a clean surface to wrap before the new panels went on, instead of layering over whatever was underneath.
